Decoration Description
Side A: At the left, a Lapith wearing chlamys, striped boots, and petasos at the back, struggles with the centaur whom he will strike with his axe. The centaur is drawn in an unusual three-quarter back view. At the right, another Lapith, similarly clad but wearing the petasos on his head, is about to stab a centaur with his spear. The centaur wields a branch with added purple leaves held above his head. Dilute glaze is used for the tails and cursorily drawn centaur musculature. The picture frame is two rows of dots. The ornament on the top of the rim is a ray pattern, on the rim edge two rows of dots, on the neck a network of pendant buds (side A only), and on the shoulder a tongue pattern.
Side B: Three youths draped in himatia stand around chatting. The outer two extend arms to the center figure who leans on his staff. All the figures' upper eyelids are clearly drawn.
