Decoration Description
This is the largest hydria preserved. Side A: Herakles murdering Busiris and ten of his servants. Hemelrijk maintains that Reichhold did not accurately reproduce all the details; there are eleven figures in the throes of death illustrated on this side. Side B: Bodyguard of Busiris. Hemelrijk thinks that Sides A and B belong together. Lower Frieze: Boarhunt. The boar to left is being attacked by eight youths and seven dogs. A white dog clings to the neck and a red dog clings to the belly of the boar. Hemelrijk does not believe this scene to be related to the others.
