Decoration Description
Eunomia (labelled), standing 3/4-view to the left, with her weight on her left leg, her right leg relaxed, wearing a sleeveless chiton, a himation draped around her legs and over her left shoulder, a long pony tail, and a black band necklace, holds a tray of fruit at waist level in her left hand, and hangs her right hand at her side; Adonis, seated 3/4-view to the left on a klismos, with his head turned profile to the right, wearing a himation around his hips and legs, and a grain crown, places his feet on a footstool, holds his right hand in front of his body, where it meets the hand of Eros, and kisses Eros, standing 3/4-view to the left, with his weight on his left leg, his right leg relaxed, both arms reaching around Adonis; Eukleia (labelled), standing nearly frontal, with her head profile to the left, and her weight on her right leg, wearing a sleeveless, belted chiton, part of which is rewrapped around her hips, and a black band necklace, holds a lyre in her bent left hand, and raises to the left her right hand, on which a small bird is perched.
Adonis has alternately been identified as Phaon (Beazley). Wehgartner suggests that this vase is a warning of danger in excess, and that Eunomia and Eukleia are here balancing Eros' lack of restraint.
